There are always new movies and television shows coming out every month and season. From what I seen here lately, seems like every 2 out of 15 movies are worth even watching, sometimes not even that. I believe a lot of talented actors and actresses are being passed up and that may be part of the reason nothing decent is coming out or folks don’t want to see nothing decent anymore. Comedy is now more offensive to make ratings or grab more attention. Drama has to involve magic, killing, lots of sex scenes or heavy special effects to draw an audience. I have been to a Broadway play before, I saw Aida. During this time Deborah Cox was in the starring role, never had I appreciated just pure talent without any kind of enhancement except a microphone, some costumes, and an orchestra….REAL LIVE orchestra in a pitt in front of the stage. I was amazed and delighted, at that play 10x’s more than watching a movie. As I thought about it, some of these fly by night or ”is famous for doing random crazy stuff in movies,actors” and/or “actresses” probably would be laughed off the stage , if put in a real play to showcase real acting. I am still appalled at what’s actually getting mad reviews…..For example….why did this do somewhat well:

Both came out the same year(2006). But of course the offensive one wins. As I said before, alot of talent is being passed up for stupid random people. Seems like this new “hot, young crew ” has bumped the real talent out the way.
First of all, in light of the issues that are not new and have been going on for a couple years now, why is she still getting acting jobs:

And those offers for them to keep working despite their problems KEPT ON COMING!!!! WTF?? But Isaiah Washington, a good actor, (that complains alot, but good actor), gets canned for saying something he said he didn’t say, but all the while saying the offensive word while apologizing for something he claims he didn’t say in the first place….Whew! And he eventually found a role after leaving his highly rated show…..but didn’t exactly have Hollywood sending scripts or calls to his agent everyday for roles despite his problems. That mofo even did a Public Service Announcement and met with Gay Rights Groups to immediately show how sorry he was and still got the boot.
But it’s hard for many minority actors to find work or there aren’t enough meaty good Oscar potential roles for them anyway, unless the storyline calls for “anyone” or it fits the timeline or a minority is needed to blend the story to make it appear more authentic. Movies like:

I am just concerned with what is put out there for us (minorities) when given the chance…… Then if there is a chance , we get stuff like this:

I really hope the black entertainment, hell minorities in general with getting prominent Oscar potential meaty roles in Hollywood, will change . Not everything is to be laughed at, not everybody can make people laugh, not everything that is funny to one person if funny for all. Not everybody can act EVERY role. I’m sure it is a competitive situation out there to vie for roles. But I am truly stumped that I don’t feel alot of things being put out right now are not very interesting for me. I am just one person, but again, not everything needs to be special effects, blowing things up, heartwarming classics with the same 6 people Hollywood re-uses and considers America’s Hottest actors or America’s ”Sweethearts”. Hollywood needs a make over….Badly.
